yes i learned about how to put things in past tense. I learned how to use things in past perfect tense.
Ex: The problem is is that its raining. or What she is is a complete jerk.

I learned that a singular subject agrees with a singular verb and a plural subject agrees with a plural verb. Something that I found interesting was that the compound subject “patience and consideration” belongs with “are,” not “is.”

Examples:

1. The test pencils are sharp.
(test pecils = plural, so you use "are," not "is.")

2. The striped shirt is mine.
(Since you are talking about one shirt, you use "is" instead of "are").

Well I learned that a singular subject must agree with a singular verb, and a plural subject must agree with a plural verb. A singular object involves an object or person and that a plural object can involve more items or persons, for example as Grammar Girl says "a surgical patient" is a singular verb because it only involves one person while "the shocked copy editors" is an example of a plural verb because it involves more than one person.

This grammar girl was about singular subject and verb, that agrees with plural subject and a plural verb.

Ex:The puppy's fur is soft.
Ex2: THe black ipod is her's.

The guest writer is very creative! This was my favorite episode because humor is a great way to remember mundane rules. The guest writer and Grammar Girl are a perfect team (notice the plural subject -plural verb agreement!). One of the good tips from this podcast is to circle or underline the subject and verb if you are not sure whether they agree (notice the single subject - single verb agreement!).

in this grammar girl i learned about subject verb agreement.
what grammar girl talked about was that a subject must agree with a singular verb.
for example that dogs is mines
or
that dog was hers
other examples can be
the brown boy
or
that girl is her boyfriend.
to be honest i kind didn't understand this grammar girl allot.

I Enjoyed the Grammer girl Podcast! I understood it very well and I think that the Hospital Theme was very cool and entertaining. The Example that really stood out to me to help me understand "Subject Verb-Agreement" is the example that a Singular subject agrees with a singular verb. For example: A singular subject "the rolling gurney", or "a surgical patient."
But overall, I agree with everything.

i learned that your not so pose to use commas to splice together sentences because you can use periods instead of commas because in the example the guy was so pose to use a period to combine the two sentences.

examples
wrong way-Paul,ate,spaghetti salad and ice cream.

write-Paul ate spaghetti,salad,and ice cream.

In this grammar girl podcast, I learned how the singular subject agrees with a singular verb and a plural subject agrees with a plural verb.

Examples:

1. Those are my books!
In this example, I would use "are" because the subject is plural. "Books" is a plural subject and I can only use a plural verb with that.

2. That is my friend's phone.
Here, the verb changes to singular because of the subject which is the "phone".

Responses:

* I like Navpreet Singh's examples and the explanation of what this grammar girl podcast was about. I think she understood it well mainly because of the examples she included.

* I also liked Guillermo Galindo's post and I feel like he sort of understood this podcast. His examples were not clear to me but he has the correct explanation.
