IN THE GRAMMER GIRL PODCAST #104, SHE TALKED ABOUT HOW YOU SHOULD WRITE LONG SENTECES BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL END UP LOSING THEMSEVES IN WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. YOU COULD ALSO KEEP A SENTENCE GOING IF YOU USE SEMICOLINS, COMAS AND CLAUSES. SHE ALSO SAID THAT A WAY TO CUT DOWN A LONG SENTENCE IS TO HIGHLIGHT THE MAIN POINTS AND MAKE A SENTENCE FOR EACH OF THEM.

AN EXAMPLE FOR ME WOULD BE "I WENT TO WORK YESTERDAY THERE WAS PLENTY TO DO LIKE:CLEAN UP, HELP COSTUMERS, SENSOR CLOTHES AND MORE, BUT I JUST ENDED UP SENSORING CLOTHES AND HELPING COSTUMERS".

ANOTHER EXAMPLE WOULD BE " TODAY I MIGHT GO TO THE DODGERS GAME BUT IM NOT SURE BECAUSE I HAVE TO DO SOME HOMEWORK,CLEAN THE HOUSE A LITTLE BIT,WASH MY CLOTHES AND WATCH MY LITTLE BROTHER".

to be honest with you, i didnt get this grammar girl
it was really confusing i read it over about 4 times

all i learned is that shes talking about how her had had a poster of Marcel Prous on his bathroom, and that he used a long sentence,

it confused me, at least i tried to understand it

Nathalies examples was helpful but then when i read grammar girl it kinda was different from hers.

In Grammer Girl #104, what I believe stood out to me and made me a bit confused is how the Long Sentence acually works or how it is noticed. I know that it is a sentence that contains commas and semicolens, but I dont know how it works. What I thought was pretty funny was when Grammer Girl mentioned about if a Sentence is to long then the reader will get "Exhausted and Collapse" and if it is to short, then it will make the reader feel like "they missed something". Lolzz

In Grammar girl #104 they talked about sentence length. grammar girl said that if u stuff to many things in sentences they become run on sentences. in order for us to shorten them we should use semicolons ,commas, or try to shorten them. grammar girl also said that we cant overdo our sentences we should plan out how we write them and put fascinating facts to the sentence. in other words our sentences should highlight the main points because readers get tired reading run on sentences. grammar girl said that a sentence should contain more than 30 or 40 words.
out of all the posts here Nathalie's examples were clear and simple. she did a good summary about what the podcast was about and helped me understand clearer waht grammar girl was about.

PODCAST #104 BY GRAMMAR GIRL TALKS ABOUT HOW PEOPLE CAN MAKE THEIR SENTENCES EITHER TOO LONG OR LEAVE OUT THINGS AND MAKE THEM FRAGMENTED SENTENCES. SHE EXPLAINS HOW IF TOO MANY THINGS ARE IN A SENTENCE YOU SHOULD MAKE THEM SHORTER, AND IF YOU LEAVE OUT TOO MANY THINGS THEY MIGHT BECOME FRAGMENTED.

E.G. RUN-ON "YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT TO THE STORE TO GO BUY A BAG OF CORROTS FOR MY MOM, WE HAD RUN OUT AT HOME, I FELL DOWN AND LOST MY MONEY SO I HAD TO GO BACK HOME FOR SOME MORE MONEY SINCE I FORGOT MY PHONE." SENTENCE FRAGMENT "WENT TO THE STORE."

In the grammar girl podcast #104, she talked about sentences that are sometimes too long and too short. When you are trying to shorten the sentence, it might be incomplete and result to a fragment. Choose the main points out of the overly long sentences and put them into a medium sized sentence.

in this podcast #104 she talked about sentence lengtgh. People tend to keep on going in there sentences and wont end them. Using comas, clauses and semicolins you can keep going in your sentence. I learned a way to quickly fix long sentences. You just have to figure out what your main points are and not leaving out a subject or verb. This grammer girl helped me to not use a sentence that keeps on running on and on.

examples
In the future. fragment

In the future i will be head of the world and eat all day while having my slaves cleaning up the world and after that i will go to the moon and eat marshmellows.

In Grammar Girl #104, she talks about long sentences and how these confuse people when they are reading. If there is a long sentence a reader might get lost, confused and bored reading your story thus making it unreadable. You could try to fix long sentences by putting semi colons, commas and clauses.

I liked Nathalie's example because it seems that she knows how to fix them.
